Dear participants, 


Due to the difficult to assess Corona situation in the future, we as organisers have decided to hold the 59th International Accordion Competition Klingenthal from 8 – 14 May 2022 again as a video competition. The rules for the online competition apply.

Registration

Registration form 

The registration for the competition is made using the official registration form. After downloading, the registration forms can be filled out on the PC and sent by e-mail to the office of the competition – together with a current portrait photo – to the Office of International Accordion Competitions by January 31st, 2022.

The registration for the competition must be made in writing, as before, by January 31, 2022, by submitting the registration form including the programme and a photograph by e-mail. The participation fee of 60,00 EUR has to be transferred free of charge to our account (see below) by February 15, 2022 at the latest:

Competition conditions for the online competition

The competition will take place online for all categories via the submitted video.

The content of the invitation to tender for the planned 2022 face-to-face competition for programmes and compulsory pieces remains unchanged for digital competition. (See the tender announcement for the 59th International Accordion Competition Klingenthal).

The programs and compulsory parts of the tender announcement apply to all participants / applicants.







Rules for the digital competition

The 59th International Accordion Competition Klingenthal will take place from May 8 to probably 14, 2022.


The registration for the competition must be made in writing, as before, by January 31, 2022, by submitting the registration form including the programme and a photograph by e-mail. info@accordion-competition.de

For categories  I, II, III, IV and V, the number of participants is limited to 20.






The programmes of the 1st selection test, 2nd selection test or the finals of all categories must be sent in each case as a video (categories I-III and VI 2 videos, category V and VII 1 video and category IV 3 videos) by April 15th, 2022 to the organisation office in Klingenthal by upload. The final of category IV (Jean Françaix: „Concerto pour Accordion et Orchestre“) must be sent in the version with piano and accordion.

Technical conditions for the participant

The video recordings of the participants must be recorded especially for the “59th International Accordion Competition Klingenthal” and may not be published by the participant before the end of the competition on May 14, 2022.

The videos of the participants must have been recorded after the end of the registration period on 31.01.2022.

The videos of the participants must be recorded for the 59th International Accordion Competition Klingenthal, and no old videos recorded at other previous events may be submitted.

The participant shall prove his / her identity and date of birth at the beginning of the video with a passport, identity card or any other suitable form.

The videos are only accepted in the formats “.mov”, “.mpg” or “.mp4” (H-264 standardisation).

The video resolution should be at least 720 p (1280 x 720 in 16/9 (landscape) format).

Make sure that the playback volume and intelligibility of the audio signal are good.

Additional sound effects such as digital reverb should be avoided.

The performances must be recorded in full screen (landscape format), the body (head, right and left hand as well as the entire instrument) must be visible during the entire recital.

The organiser has the right to exclude videos from the competition if the audio and video quality is inadequate. In this case, the participant shall be informed by the organiser.

Each program (selection test or final) must be recorded in a sequence without interruption or cut both between and within the works/pieces. There must be no interruption of the recording between the works/pieces. Subsequent audio or video editing that influences the recital is not permitted; such performances shall be excluded from the jury’s evaluation.



Submitting the videos

The participant sends his/her videos via a file hosting or cloud service such as WeTransfer, Dropbox, GoogleDrive, Microsoft OneDrive etc. of his/her choice.

The participant sends the download link by e-mail >> info@accordion-competition.de together with the fully completed competition entry form. The participant will receive the form and a description of the procedure with the admission to the competition. The participant agrees to the processing of the personal data collected in the process.



Evaluation by the jury and course of the competition

During the competition a performance space will be set up in Klingenthal.

The jurors of the international jury shall sit in this performance space, just as in the face-to-face competition.

All jury members shall have the same visual and hearing conditions for the evaluation.

The order of the recordings shall be drawn by lot before the competition by the organisation office.

A plan of the course of the competition shall be published on the website of the organiser.

After three participants in each category, the jury shall conduct a consultation.

The jury secretaries shall organise and control the course of the competition.

The organiser shall reserve the right, at his discretion, to stream the competition live or to publish it later.

The members of the international jury will keep the evaluation lists as in the face-to-face competition.

The computing office shall independently determine the results. The results of all selection tests and finals as well as the overall result list of all categories shall be published on the homepage of the organiser.



Prize money

The award winners will be notified personally by the organiser.

The prize money for the prize-winners will be paid out by bank transfer (for prize-winners resident outside Germany after deduction of tax in accordance with § 50a (5) EstG).

The prize winners will send their complete international bank details to the organiser by e-mail to info@accordion-competition.de.

Any fees that may be incurred in this process shall be borne by the recipient.

In case of doubt, the German version of the announcement prevails.
